I just got a call at 8:15 in the morning... ick....

I am still working on this vivid router, I am a little further but the manual isn't helping at all grrr....

ok, I am tring to install this stupid fucking gtk crap for live journal... grrr, it's not installing at all. I had to install gtk (makes sence) however his program doesn't see ANY of the gtk files. I move them all over and it still throwes me cannot find errors... hell it can't even find the glib.h file.... this think is REALLY starting to piss me off....

you are supposed to be able to put the mood on with the web version but I don't see where... oh well. I will screw with it more in a bit...

the fbi?

Wow, 8 people just added me to thier friends list... I am going to have to go through them, find out who they are and add them to mine (I don' t know them by thier livejournal account).

also since this time yesterday I have recieved 3000 hits on my web site... wierd...

I started working on the natd and ipfw help manual but keep getting interupted... damn work :-) I am going to get it up just as soon as I can so just hold on...

someone who met me at Atlantacon works here, he came up and started talking to me about the con... I am so glad that everyone liked it because it was a TON of work!!! for those of you who missed my panel I was going to do a lock picking demonstration with different kinds of locks but my hands were so swollen from the work to get the con up and running that I couldn't hold the pick... oh well, maybe next year....

does anyone know about this www.cpfbi.com company? that is really frightening... I want to get in and lookup some things one thier site, see what I can dig through but it says you have to have an access pass, I odviously don't... when I get the time I will look through it and see what I can find. From what I understand so far, this is a privite eye company that does work for the fbi becouse the FBI is not allowed to follow people without a permit... however I believe that anything they have about a person has to be public record or some crazy shit like that... we will see... I am going to try and find out a little bit later today.

I had lunch at a new chineese place up the street, for $5.25 it was't bad however the restraunt was REALLY small, I think it had 12 table total. I eat at oriental restraunts all the time, and 90% of the time I will use chopsticks (some of the places I eat that is all they have to eat with) it's funny how much better you are treated when you eat with chopsticks instead of silverware... the waiter would come to my table and pour my tea for me, they would make sure I had everything I needed all the time, it is kind of nice.

I have been tring to get this gtk livejournal program to work now for about 3 hours, I finally did it (yea).

to install the program:

first there are no dependances listed so you are going to have to install them yourself. you need X11 (of course) you also need gtk 1.2...(under x11-toolkits) you can install it from the ports collection. then you need to install the gnome libraries... you don't have to install all of gnome, just the libraries (/usr/ports/x11/gnomelibs)

now you are ready to start the install!!!

make sure you are root!!!

there are a lot of errors in the code, are you ready?

unzip and untar the program:
# tar xfz loserjabber-2.1.5.tar.gz
now go into the directory:
# cd loserjabber-2.1.5.tar.gz
now run the configure script, I haven't run it with gnome and am not going to try:
# ./configure --without-gnome
now go to the libraries directory and make the approate changes:
# cd libhalfgnome

Change 1 the make file
edit the make file with your favorate text editor:
# vi Makefile
change the line begining with "DEFS =" to this:
DEFS = -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I/usr/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/local/include -I/usr/X11R6/include/gtk12 -I/usr/local/include/glib12 -I..

now you need to edit href.c (for now you will change it back later)
# vi href.c

change the line:
#include "href.h"
to this:
#include "libgnomeui/gnome-href.h"

now do the same thing to halfgnome.h

one you are done you can make your false gnome libraries:
# make
you will get a couple of errors, unless you get an:
***error code 1
at the end you are fine, ignore the rest.
now the two files href.c and halfgnome.h you need to change back to the way they were... (otherwise your source won't compile)

now:
# cd ../src
# make
# cd ..
# make
# make install

that is it, from here you can log out as root and log in as a normal user

took me forever it seems like to figure all of this out however!!!!
