Lots of nightmares last night...grrrr.....I guess I should be used to it by now, but I 'm not

My nightmares are almost always different each time, however they follow a couple of basic themes. the first one is the chase I am being chased by something, sometimes I can see it, sometimes I can't, it can be one thing or many but I can only run from it, and not far, I always come up to some obstacle that can't be crossed, I either have to try and cross it slowly or run around whatever is chasing me so it doesn't have a direction to go in.

the other theme is screaming, all I hear is screaming coming from many sources, sometimes I can see the source, sometimes I can't. but I am not able to escape from the screaming, what ever I do, I can't hush it.

the third is both, that was how last night was. I have had these since I was a kid, it is rare that I am human during the dream, sometimes I am a piece of rope tied in a knot, sometimes I am a rock, last night I was a robot, kind of like the end of Terminator I was being chased by a REALLY large robot, steam powered, with track tires like a tank. it was upright, silver and red. I was in an area 200'x400x surrounded by dark brown walls. the ground was not stable, I kept falling, it was like a huge trash heap made of scraps of metal all silver and black. it wasn't level at all, some of the towers were 15' high and the holes could be 10' deep. I separated myself from it using some of the tall scraps of metal but it was hard to do because the ground was just scraps of metal, they would move when I tried to walk through it. I couldn't tell what pieces would fall when I stepped on the and which wouldn't. the screaming came from above the wall. the wall was 14 feet high, dark brown wood, lots of splinters and when I looked above it to see where the screaming was coming from all I could see was brown and grey what could almost be perceived as stretched faces would fade in and out of the mist. I can still her the screaming in my head. it was chilly but not cold and there was a slight breeze.

so that was my night, how was yours?

Vault night is tonight, everyone be at my house between 7 and 11. lots of playstation, if you want your computer fixed, bring that too.

Tomorrow we start the tesla coil, anyone who wants to help let me know.

100 days of uptime yesterday on my workstation here at work.

in that time I have:

installed new software
added modules to my kernel
changed my ip address
uninstalled and reinstalled my mouse driver 3 times
opened 75 windows at the same time
shutdown and restarted my X session over 20 times
had software crash on me
had netscape lock up my screen
ran my cpu at the 350% mark
used up all of my memory and swap space

all of this and STILL I have yet to reboot my computer in the 100 days since I took it out of the box and installed FreeBSD on it.

tell me, why is it YOU are using windows still?

I was asked to write a file on the difference between the bsd's, well here it is: BSD

hopefully this will help any of you who have questions about what they should be running when the pick a bsd.
