Fear the dragon
Sep. 3rd, 2002 01:39 pmDragon con was this weekend, it was a LOT of fun, here is my review ;-)
Picked up my badge thursday with grrlvynal, saw dave, this was the only time I saw him the entire con :-(
Friday I just hung out mostly, saw chris and jen from nothing inside, watch their show, it was good I wore a pretty black dress. I went to the LJ panel to see Grrlvynal, I bitched about LJ a bunch as usual.
Saturday I had 3 outfits I wore, they worked out pretty well, I got to meet lots of new people, the webcam girl panel went well, it was nice to see all of them again. Bar diva, mystrys, grrl vynal I knew, there was one short redhaired girl on the panel I don't know all that well. That night I went to the fantasm party, it was a nice relaxing party (which was good) hung out with my friends met a couple of new people.
by sunday the hotel was REALLY starting to get to me. somthing in either their airducts or the carpet made my and all my friends sinuses go nuts, I STILL sound like I am sick. I wasn't even feeling well enough to wear a costume. the hacking 201 panel went really well, we got some good questions. the fantasm party was shut down before we got to it. a lot of sunday I don't remember because I was feeling so bad.
monday I still hadn't slept, but I made it to hacking 301, I also made my one dragon purchase, it's a handle with a wheel on the end and pins going all the way around the wheel. you roll it on someones back and it feels SO good. it sends shivers up and down your spine and all the way to the ends of your fingers. I then went to robot wars, that was a LOT of fun. james dean's robot didn't do so well this year :-( but an army box with a chainsaw is still pretty cool. I really want to build a robot but had NO money to do so. I have been saving sheet metal from computer cases for just that purpose, maybe next year I will be about to figure something out.
over all dragon went really well, I can't wait to see everyone elses reviews and hopefully get e-mail from some of the people I met.
