yesterday

Wow, I am glad I am over yesterday.

you know it's going to be a bad day when you show up at work and your workmates meet you at the door. as it turned out a server was down. I got it back up to the point where it was usable but not fixed (I LOVE read only mode sometimes)

a remote server suddenly had a bad network card, had to build a new box for them and ship it off.

one of the replacement boxes I shipped last week showed up DOA had to build a new one for them

at least the remote kernel installs went without a hitch yesterday.

gwinna didn't work as many hours yesterday so I had to go pick her up and dropped her off at melons then had to go back to work so I could fix the server with no one there. It got rebuilt OS was installed samba configured etc... (used lots of tricks to get it done faster)

tgrey moved stuff in last night. then moved in with lego and 2 miniture greyhounds. or so I heard, I was asleep when they moved in. they have a mattress but don't have the box springs or the frame for it yet, that should come in soon. I have a lot of cleaning to do in the computer room tonight so that he can put his computer and equiptment into place.

work was bad, I think I had the most servers down in a day yesterday than any other single day I have worked here. I am glad however that tgrey and lego got moved in, and now my puppy should have friends to play with!! weeeee!!

I realized on the way to work today that I really miss having time to sit down and write poetry. I would like to do that more.

I would like to finish unpacking, I have realized that I have WAY too much stuff.

my computer room needs more organization I need to spend some time separating everything, especially now that I have people moving in. I also need to run cables up to the top floors. not sure how I want to do that yet but I will figure something out.

I need to have a house warming party. maybe around Halloween and we can make it a Halloween party too!!

so no more vender meetings for me

I just got back from one, with 2 of my bosses. They had given me some of the equipment that the vender had lent them to play with so I told them about my tests and all the discoveries I had made. when it was over the vender offered me a job right in front of my boss...

yup, I don't think I will be asked to come to another one of those.
