things from yesterday:
they have a great zoo here! many big animales... I saw a Giant Panda
it's funny, largest city in the world and yesterday I ran into the same guy on the train that I met sunday night! on a completely different side of the city!
it is CRAZY busy here!! seriously... New york is desolate comparativly
I tried new food!!
- Japanese Omlet, a mound of rice with vegtables on it. a scrambled egg pattie, covered in a sauce kind of like BBQ sauce
- dried kiwi... damn that stuff is SO good... seriously.... I bought an extra box to bring back to the guest house I am staying in....it never made it here
- 1000 year old eggs... that's the name of them... here, I found this online:
Thousand-Year Old Eggs
If the thought of eating food that could have been served to an Emperor during the Song dynasty offends your culinary sensibilities, relax. Thousand-year-old eggs aren’t really that old. A more accurate name for this pungent hors d’oeuvre would be salted or preserved eggs. Thousand-year old eggs (also called century eggs or hundred-year old eggs), are made by preserving duck eggs in ash and salt for one-hundred days. This turns the white of the egg a darkish gray color, giving the eggs an ancient appearance. Definitely an acquired taste, thousand-year old eggs have a strong salty flavor.
- strange pork, it's the edge of the skin slised horizontally and grilled... so you get the skin the fat and the meat all at once. quite tasty but I am sure HORRIBLE for you.
I am getting used to the trains finally... and looking for certin symbols
my japanese is getting better but slowly... my acccent is throwing them off
McDonalds is pronounced something like macudononouwa and you would not be able to understand it if you hear it...
my feet hurt... quite a bit... all this walking n stuff
if you get off at tokyo station be prepared to have money.... a meal costs between 35 and 100 dollars.... I left and went to shibuya.... my dinner was about $5 there
if you are a guy, look at the color of the car you get on. the all pink car is female only.
the internet connections here suck... they go up and down constantly and the lag is insane...
the apples here are really really sweet!! almost sugar sweet... volcanic ash maybe?
