I hate banks...

hugmeHow do you people who have accounts at normal banks deal with this?!?
So I go by "peoples financial" they are VERY unhappy and actually rude to me because I want to cancel the life insurance policy they signed me up for. the lady says "It's there to pay off the loan if you die" I answer back "I have plenty of life insurance at my company" "Well I was just trying to explain why we did it"
oh, then I ask for a copy of the policy because they want to keep my copy... it was like pulling teeth.
"well I'm not sure we can give you that"
"then I will take it back and copy it myself"
"why would you want a copy if you are canceling it anyway"
"I need a record of it"
"I can give you a copy but I have to write canceled on it"
"that is fine"
then I had to write up a form saying "I would like to cancel my insurance policy" and sign it
argh!!! I am calling in a week to make sure it was canceled. this is insane.
THEN!! I call Bank of America who my last car loan was through. I paid it off 3 months ago and they are sending me a random bill for $19.58 claiming I missed that payment. so I call them.. talk to the customer service rep, transfered to the loan department, transfered to the car loan department, transfered to the gap insurance department, transfered to the closed accounts department... get the idea?
finally someone says that it's a late fee (which I had because the forgot to actually close my account when I paid it off) and they will be nice enough to wave the fee (gosh, you are going to wave a fee you sent me because of YOUR mistake? what saints you are!)
bastards... I miss my credit union... sniff...
