Ok, so I am putting together my new saltwater tank.

I got some metal plates to put under the legs of the stand so that it wouldn't punch holes in the floor. the calculated weight of this thing is 600lbs. I then added my bubbler and heater. I got a nice filter, it's got 3 different types of filteres in it. the back filter is what every type you want to put in. I am going to have a amonia filter in one side and a nitrite filter in the other. then it passes through the carbon filter and strainer. last it goes through the wheel, this is a biological filter which grows fungus that will eat some of the evil chemicals in the water.. Now the test kit I got has all the tests excepte for nitrate, I had to get that one seperatly. I did some test on my fresh water and amonia was a little bit high so I put in some amonia cleaner. Next was the salt. I had to add 15 lbs of salt to the tank, wow that is a hell of a lot of salt. you have to add it slowly, about 2 cups of salt an hour... needless to say it took a while. Now I can test the spicific gravity of the water which will give me an aproximation of how much salt is in the water... I am ALMOST done...

I am off to the store to get a few more items, I need another tank to do the water change and for a holding tank for new fish... they take a lot of time to add to the community. hope you enjoy all the pictures.. the entire list can be found here
