Why bit torrent?
Jan. 3rd, 2008 06:23 pmDo you still buy movies online? seriously? well stop... bit torrent them... why?
well, they are getting nastier and nastier about DRM's... basicly, if you upgrade your HARDWARE microsoft and netflix feel it's fully within their rights to not only revoke your license for what you bought from them, but what you bought from ANYONE. That's right, your hardware... if you upgrade to a system that can support a higher resolution of the movie they feel you should have to buy it again... even though it's the same movie... AND that you should have to rebuild all your licenses EVEN if it's your own media.
Think I'm kidding? here you go:

seriously people.. go download this software: http://www.bitcomet.com/
then go to google, type in "[movie title] torrent" and start replacing your collection with something that has the drm's ripped off of them so they can't touch them.
hell, I won't even keep those movies on a windows box. They are on a file server running FreeBSD to make SURE they can't harm my files.
