So I went to the school today to find out some info, this is what I found out:

A. I have almost no credit from when I was in college before
B. The credit I do have doesn't count because the classes are no longer offered
C. my grade point average right now is 0.84
D. They won't let me opt out of ANY classes until my senior year
E. I have to retake the math placement exam and possibly go back to a high school algebra

So basicly I am starting as a new college student with no credits, a 0.84 GPA and I am going to be taking classes that I could teach.

I want to just cry...

Maybe this college thing wasn't such a great idea

So I guess just work on this (http://www.spsu.edu/catalog/ugrad/curriculum/assoc_science.html) stuff for now until they're less stupid or you transfer somewhere else. There's not much in the Associate of Science degree that you could have opted out of anyway.

Unfortunately I can relate..I'm in the same boat. I had lots of credits built up (was less than a semester from graduating) but due to the particulars of my admission (very long story), they wouldn't transfer to another school (despite exceeding the normal gpa requirements), and now it's over 10 yrs so even the school itself wouldn't honor most of them if I moved back to NH. So after many years of college, to go back, I would have to start fresh in classes I could (and in a few cases as a TA, have) teach.

Good luck, it's probably worth the effort, frustrating though it is.

Sorry to hear. Unfortunatly I think I will be in the same boat. I think it is great you went back to Southen Tech (now Southern Poly, liked the old name better).

Good luck on the school, I got out of there in '84 and have thought about going back for more up to date training, but not sure how much I have would work there.

That was so far back that it was still part of Ga. Tech when I started.

Would the online Universities done any better?

Liked the top 100 list. And that you are taking care of #100.
