May. 21st, 2001 08:39 amthis weekend was good, Melon and Damian were at the house on Friday when I got home playing on the PS2 we played for a while until my friends Ameliea, Sam and their friend Sanja came over. I hadn't ever met Sanja before, she was nice. Melon and Damian left and the 5 of use went to Glittler dome... it was $21 to get in!!! that is horrible, oh well, we had a good time. Whoever the crew was for the shows needs to be shot... the first number was caberet, the lights didn't work, however the sound wasn't bad. (it was lip syncing not using the mikes) then they did live music... it was HORRIBLE you couldn't tell it was music because of all the buzzing. oh well, we danced, that was good.
Saturday we went to see the first of 2 movies this weekend, we saw First night. it was TERRIBLE!!!! that was the worst piece of crap movie I have seen in a LONG time. Troma couldn't make a film that bad and they TRY!!!. Let's see, what was wrong. well lets start by letting you know it's a Rennasance setting. so everyone dressed in their corsets and leggings on the wooden bleachers....doing the foot ball *stomp* *stomp* *clap* to queens 'we will rock you'. was the director just completely brain dead when he came up with this... the jouster is dead so one of his minions decides to be him and wins the joust. they decide to keep up with this so they begin training... this is pretty funny and the last good scene of the movie. to sum up... they 'almighty' king is dressed in a brown leather pilot's jacket with the scruffy 'highlander' thing going on. the 'chick' was a bitch and had serious problems with her hair style... they were really shooting for an 80's look with the big poof with crimped in colors... the blacksmith chick was pretty cool and the only redeeming character in the entire movie.. she got no one, which really sucked because it was obvious she was the sexist in both manor and appearance. by the end of the movie I was hoping the bad guy would win.
On Sunday we saw mummy returns... it was a pretty good movie (but then comparatively 'My little pony II' I would have called good) However, the writers should spend a little less time playing Diablo II. I didn't realize this until the little Pigmy's jumped out of the jungle with their poison darts. It was just a fun fantasy movie, I don't know how much I like Brendon Frasiers wife, they kept talking about how smart she was however you got no other indication that she was. other than that it was a fun ride to exotic imaginary places, most of the animation was pretty incredible up until the last bad guy... the scorpion king, I didn't like his drawing at all... they should have dropped that and just put him as a guy. I loved the ship they were in.. that was a pretty inventive Idea... brought the 'fantasy' part to life....
other than that I played some PS2 this weekend and worked on the computer a bit, however I didn't get the pictures scanned that I wanted to... i will work on that during the week this week.
