ok, so the windows 2000 box has been formated (and the people cheer)

I am going to make this box a duel boot linux and windows. I haven't run linux on any of my own boxes for a while. I picked slack to run.

I HATE this install, ok first off fdisk is broken, I created 3 partions Fat32, Linux ext2 and Linux swap. the first think I noticed was that it gave an error when I tried to install lilo, um ok, I will try it anyway. I did the install and it wouldn't boot. fine, I will just use easy boot instead of lilo. So I install easy boot, pressed F2 to boot to linux and nothing, it just sat there. So I booted my FreeBSD mini disk and looked at the partitions that the stupid linux fdisk had created. the second partition it created in the middle of a sector!!! DUH... piece of crap. I recreated the partitions with freebsd and re-did the linux install. the third partition was set up as a standard linux swap file, but slackware tried to format it like a linux partiton. so that one had to be deleted and recreated with the broken slackware fdisk.

it won't boot with easy boot for some reason. you HAVE to use lilo

There is no decent size count for slackware fdisk... piece of crap program

You have to sit and hand hold the install, instead of asking you what you want to install and installing it. The program will go one package at a time. ask you what you want to install from each package section, installing that then stopping on the next package section to ask you again. ask once at the beginning so I can start the install and then go do something else!!

Why does slack have to search for the cdrom it FUCKING BOOTED FROM?!?

=================================================================

after all this mess, I finally got the damn thing to boot...
