It's back....
Jan. 20th, 2004 09:32 pmThis is your only warning... Hydra is back on line at the house.... Operating at maximum capacity...
for those of you who remember hydra she is the massive computer that I built a couple of years ago... 5 heads and a connecting head with any other OS... she has been down for quite a while but I got her going again today....
I would like to take a picture and post it but I can't find my digital camera, I haven't seen it for almost a month now....
the full command center should be up and operational in a few weeks... (hopefully)

Re: This is one of those things.....
Date: 2004-01-22 10:54 am (UTC)right now everything isn't set up...
it's 2 computers.. one runs freebsd and has 5 video cards, 3 matrox II's a matrox agp and an ATI each head running with a different desktop, 4 windowmakers and one with no windowmanager. the part which isn't set up yet is a seperate computer... I use some 'X magic' as you would call it to control that computer with the same keyboard and mouse and make it look like it rolls over.. it can be any OS I want it to be, I think it will be 2000 just because it's impressive to see such a piece of shit OS do something like that...
What I really would like to do is get the OpenVMS box to do the same thing... (evil grin)
Re: This is one of those things.....
Date: 2004-01-22 06:45 pm (UTC)I know a few "X magic" tricks, as I simply put it, but I don't know of any that would let me control a Windows machine. Those some dark arts.
5 video cards in one machine. Must be a snug fit.
