bright 'star' to the east in the evenings... I knew it had to be jupiter or saturn...

turns out it's Jupiter.... very pretty..

the kstars program rocks... even has some nice meade telescope control features which I haven't tried out yet... I will have to do that.

Yeah, it kinda popped up here while I was in Atlanta. I tried asking someone if they knew what it was: "It seems like whenever I go outside I see this bright light... No, not the sun! At night! Whenever I leave school, it's there. No, it's not a streetlight. In the sky! Like a planet! It just kinda appeared out of nowhere. Yes, when the sun sets... oh, shut up!"
