fucking down again today, I lost 12 paragraphs because luserjabber crashes when it can't find the live journal site... grrr, I couldn't imagine actually paying money for this shit -- I guess it's free for a reason eh?

I will try and remember everything I put down.

I had weird dreams last night, I am not writing them all down again... grrr fucking stupid amins... I offered to help out but you have to fucking RETURN MY E-MAIL for me to.

subway for lunch, there was a lady standing at the door telling people as they came in that they shouldn't eat there because the management had refused to give her the discount for her kids meal they used to have.... I had to yell at her the stupid bitch... just because she doen't know how to keep her legs together when she knows good and fucking well she can't afford kids I have to pay more for my sandwitch so that they can get a discount...

if you have kids and can't afford them do the world a favor, put them in a car seat then drive with them into a lake. it is the best thing you could do for humanity.

I am in a bitch mood, can you tell?!?

today is PoisonGirl's birthday

nananananana
They say it's your birthday
nananananana
your going to have a good time
nananananana
They say it's your birthday
nananananana
Happy birthday to you!!

I tried to put this up this morning but see the earlier note

Def-Con is next weekend, I am pretty psyced about it!! 4 days in las vegas... woo-woo

I am working on the diskless systems... this morning I was recieving an 'init not found in path' error... I don't know why, itit is in /sbin and /sbin is in the path, I am going to check on it when I get home today.. I coudln't play with it much this morning, that darned work thing.

I still don't have a place to live in aguest, I am considing just renting a house for a little while... if I can get a roomate then I can be able to affort to save up some for the down payment on a house.

I finally got freebsd installed on that little laptop... it's a 486-33 it only has 8 meg of memory and I am trying to get everything (including the shell) to run without using swap.. it's hard to do.. for some reason when I compile the kernal on a different machine it doen't want to see the swap at all.. grrr... when it does that I get out of memory errors...

will work on that later

Actually according to the maintence page it was only down for 45 seconds. I have very little trouble with livejournal and not much with my windows client or with the linux one when I use it. I pay for my account and have paid for the accounts of several other people. I think the
volunteers who run it do a great job and I am glad they do it. It's open source which I think is marvelous.
If you don't like it check out blogger or some of the other ones or write your own. :)

the maintance page lies.. it was down for AT LEAST 2 1/2 hours as it was down before I left for my meeting and when I got back it was still down.

I am a paying customer, and I will renew my subscription.

They volunteer to do this, when I pay I do it not as much to get the features as to support them because I love this project.

I have very few problems with it.

As to the LoserJabber doing that, it's opensource, write your own implementation then? :)

if you pay for service you should expect them to pay you back for all the time it was down. doesn't matter what they service is.especially if they say they are VOLENTEERS but they won't let me volenteer...

Actually I am considering writing my own journal on my site and linking it from here... my system has been down for less than 12 hours in the last YEAR. I have offered to volenteer however noone responds to any of my e-mails.

as soon as I get this security autit done and get the virtual jail working the way I want it to I may just do that. I can even set it up so it can be used by anyone.. and advertise 'one-one hundreth the down time of live journal'

I don't think any site going from 20,000 or so users when I signed up in October to the over 200,000+ users they have now can get there without some problems. Almost all sites have issues. I've seen your page down more than once. Slashdot definitely goes down and it has a large corpotation's money behind it. Live Journal has also been having problems with being dos'ed. That has been the major issue lately I believe. If they were lying about it on the maintence page I believe people would call them on it there.
I've never heard that the volunteer system here works on an "email us and we will assign you to something" basis. I think it's more of a 'join dev and start working on something' thing.

there aren't but a few users on the system, there are 200K on the application... as far as real users there probeley aren't more than 50 users, I have run systems who had more than 100K users on them (time warner) I designed that system myself.I have disigned systems which have applications with over a million users on them.

yes we had a few problems on our DEVELOPMENT machine... as far as the live server we were up for 6 months with NO DOWN TIME, since I have been on live journal the longest I have seen it up and running was about two and a half weeks.

Slashdot goes down about a couple of times a year. they revieve 200K hits per day and have over a million users registered in their database. I have known and worked with commander taco (rob) for about 3 years now.

Who is talking about me e-mailing them and getting assigned somthing, I just wanted a RESPONCE, of all the e-mails I sent I never revieved one.

My site has been down before... when I had to take it down last time it was down for about 30 minuites and it had an uptime of over 130 days on it, live journal goes down more than a microsoft system.

I wonder if www.deadjournal.com goes down whenever lj goes down.

Doesn't look like it. Says it's in no way affiliated with lj.
