I don't feel so bad today, I got up and left before anyone else got up. I sat in the lobby for a while talking to some of the few def-con folks left. Laughing boy was leaving. I took a taxi to the airport. My first left left at 12:05. I got a good view of the city and the strip. Took a couple of pictures. The trip was pretty quet. The first words out of my neighbors mouth were "so, did you win?" She had been there playing slots. The guy next to her had lost $6K his first day but says he won most of it back. People are strange. The scenery on the way back was amazing, the desert is alive with color, mountains pop up out of nowhere and rivers carve beautiful ridges out of the land below.I had a 2 hour stop in Denver Colorado and got a raspberry sherbet. They loaded the plane early (30 min) During the decent my face will hurt due to the change in pressure on my broken nose :-( It's actually doing much better today. The first leg I couldn't get an exit row. However I did get a window seat. The next flight I get both(2ed leg) The pressure has caused my nose to bleed again grrr. First leg was a Boeing 737 The wings are strange on these planes, the lift panels are on the back instead of the front. Second leg is a 727 hmmm reminds me of working at BAX.

Very sorry to hear about the problems you had at defcon although it sounds like you had fun overall. I had been going for a *very* long time and decided not to go this year as I think defcon has strayed away from supporting a constructive security community (or did it ever?) and began to lean more towards sensationalism and a general aimlessness. Sounds like you caught some excellent speakers though. I noticed you know angus, I haven't seen him since last year, so if you have any current contact info for him I would greatly appreciate it if you could pass on that phatal says 'hello!' and to give him my current email addy: phatal@strife.org, phatal@gh0st.net (down for a couple days) and sorry I missed him this year. Thanks!

Did you see any of the PhreakNIC fliers distributed at DefCon? PhreakNIC is a free con we do in Nashville each year. Hug Me & Angus have been involved for several years now. It was started by people who had been active in the hacking scene (in the traditional, non-media-corrupted sense of the word "hacking") since the late 80s/early 90s, partially in response the DefCon getting so large & losing the ""what can we learn from each other" vibe in favor of "I'm more l33t than joo!". @LANta.con and the EFGA track at DragonCon are also outgrowths of the whole se2600/PhreakNIC scene.

Yea, I believe Elonka was passing out flyers for Phreaknic. I was passing out stickers for atlantacon. those worked really well because everyone was putting them on their laptops or badges or where ever and people would come up and ask about them.
