Wow, this is special... there is so much bullshit on this page I don't know where to begin... but I will try...

Welcome to my first post (wink)

ok, so on the sixth of this month a group got together and started this campaign called "The War on Pornography." These little bastards make up shit declare it to be fact and use it for their agenda to get rid of the *horrible* pornography on the Internet... they have "references" to where they found the information.... funny though, none of them have links and when I do a search for them they don't yield any information...

Listen to some of the amazing statics they are feeding us:

"Over 80% of Americans want to clamp down on Pornography."
"Around $10-Billion is spent on porn annually...Larger than NFL, NBA, Major League Baseball combined"

now wait a minute... does anyone see anything wrong with these two statements? So it's a 10 billion dollar a year industry... so it's doing really well and a lot of people use the services... yet they want it shut down... hmmm...

here are a few more Gems:

"9 out of 10 children aged between 8 and 16 have viewed pornography on the Internet."

uh... ok... last stats I heard were 1 in 3 households had access to the Internet and only 1 in 5 households with children had access... so where are these numbers coming from again? YUP!! right out of their asses...

"one in five children ages 10 to 17 has received sexual solicitations while on the Internet"

see the previous comment... so every child that has access to the Internet has had sexual solicitations?

"pornography is more addictive than alcohol, cigarettes or illicit drugs"

Uh, yeah ok... So you are telling me that pornography is more addictive than crack-cocaine which you have a 50% chance of developing a chemical addiction too on the first hit, and a 20% chance of addiction from the second hand smoke?

"a word of advice, never... no... always check your references"
"thank you sir"
"I think the kids like it when I get down with the verbally don't you?"

here are your links (warning - the last one is NOT work safe):
the main page: http://www.waronpornography.com/
a news article about it: http://www.avn.com/index.php?Primary_Navigation=Articles&Action=View_Article&Content_ID=107282
an anti-war-on-porn page: http://www.fleshbot.com/archives/war-on-pornography-017316.php

Please excuse me while I go protest by searching for pictures of amputee midget ballet gay goat pr0n and do some serious beating of the bishop in a turtleneck.

WOW, this is GREAT!! (subject line)

i'm SO GLAD i ran into your website!!

for a long time i've been very concerned about rampant pornography on the internet, and i'm so glad someone has stepped up to try to put a stop to it. but i wonder, will the movement stop at pornography? GAMBLING is another MAJOR problem on the internet, and also VERY addictive. i think AALLL gambling sites need to be SHUT DOWN as they are contributing to the moral decay of our families.
i would like to also suggest that hate group and racist websites be on the target list. they consist of the worst scum of the world, who shouldn't have a right to express their hatred laden views and violence spawning redirect. is there a chance that the war on pornography will also target hate groups and sites as well? the world is already full of so much hate, and these groups should be eliminated.
also, i've seen WAY too many sites who's sole purpose is to make fun of the handicapped and mentally challenged. they post pictures debasing those with simple disabilities, and laugh and poke fun at them. what sort of example is this for our children? these mind warping websites need to be shut down, and their operators fined, or even better jailed. that is nothing to teach our children, our hopes for the future.
also, there are hundreds of sites out there dedicated to midget wrestling, and that's something the movement just can't tolerate.
as well as those heinous sites above, there are ssooo many places where those who SUPPORT such atrocities are allowed to post their blatently disgusting opinions FREELY and OPENLY, describing acts that are reprehensible, all within a few clicks of our children. should our children be reading stories on pre-marital relations, explicitly described sex acts as well as drug use? of course not! such sites that allow such disgusting posting of these ideas and stories should be a major target of the movement.
in addition, i've come across some websites that put down and demoralize people from other nations and ethnicities, so called "ethnic jokes" have no place in our childrens lexicons and will NOT form a good basis for future social interaction. it will turn our playgrounds and classrooms into cesspools of mean and nasty behavior between child and child, and only incite hatred and anger.
i've EVEN seen some sites, even hard for ME to believe, that are based SOLELY upon wichcraft, and other black magic type of religions and rituals, teaching our children how to use ouji boards, and commune with demons and satan himself. no amount of protest from one individual will be enough, but if 10 million people get together, i'm sure we can put a stop to this devil worship! such things should NOT be within range of children, and i'm sure you agree.

as a matter of fact, i think the movement shouldn't be focused on REMOVING bad content, but rather on ONLY ALLOWING ACCEPTABLE CONTENT. THINK of it. before ANYTYHING is put onto the net, it would have to go before an advisory board of parents, teachers, civic leaders and counselors, and thoroughly screened. we could allow such websites as cnn.com and disney.com and perhaps nickjr.com (my 4 year old enjoy's nickjr.com), as well as sites promoting love and tolerance, as well as various charities and church's. the rule should be that NOTHING should be promoted, and displayed within easy reach of impresionable minds unless it meets the decency standards of the community at large, as well as persons of respect and stature. THIS method would DEFINATELY create the effect we want of keeping our children safe in a world that is otherwise growing more scary by the day, and even hour, with more pitfalls and evil's available than ever before.

NO ONE should be allowed to put ANYTHING up without OUR CONSENT. it's our CHILDRENS FUTURE THAT IS AT STAKE, should we ALLOW anything less than this? aren't our children worth the price of the eradication of the first amendment? i certaintly think so. sometimes i'm just too busy to monitor what my child does on the internet, what with cooking, cleaning, washing dishes and such. quite frankly i'm at times just to tired to "watch" what my child is doing on the internet, sometimes i'd like a break for myself! this movement is a WONDERFUL thing, before long i wont have to take the time to do much parenting at all! with the eradication of the first amendment, and the screening of all content by trusted civic leaders, i'll be able to rest easy and watch tv while my children browse an internet safe and secure, free from all negativity and stuff we dont want people to say.

i'm so glad i've run into this website, hopefully in time, we parents will be able to just sit back and be lazy, and not have to do much of anything at all! i hope the movement , after fixing the internet, will then move on to the radio and the print media, and for the LOVE OF GOD we need to clean up movies also. just think of how wonderful it would be if ONLY pretty and nice and loving ANIMATED movies were allowed to be released! the ratings system is a JOKE, anyone can really go into see those movies, and our children shoudln't be able to expose themselves to such immorality.

i'm with you guys, and heartily support your endeavors. i only hope that within my lifetime we can amass enough support to put a clamp down on creativity of all kinds, and let NOTHING be printed, heard, read, or seen that doesn't meet with our approval and satisfaction.

If kids are viewing porn, then where are their parents? Most likely NOT at some website trying to get it shut down. All the parents I know, myself included, monitor their children's computer time enough to make sure that they aren't hitting inappropriate websites. Makes ya wonder what kind of dumbasses these people are trying to get through to.

"one in five children ages 10 to 17 has received sexual solicitations while on the Internet"

This one I'm close to believing (the spirit of the statistics, if not the actual numbers) since it includes teenagers. Every teenager with access to the internet has probably been solicited, if only because the horny little buggers were out looking for some cyber-action.

I'd be more interested if children ages 8 to 12 were being harassed at an astounding rate, since I think of them as actual *children* and not young adults who get into more trouble than any parent can keep track of.

This might come close to being belivable if you count spam, but I don't consider someone demanding a credit card number as an actual solicitation.

Think, you have lived in fairly large cities and been exposed to the internet plenty. but of the avarage american 10 to 17 year old one in five are the only ones who have interenet at home. and of those maybe a forth are on enough to have been exposed to chat programs etc... and I am being generous with those numbers....
