My beautiful blue mustang is dead.
on September the 8th 2004 it was struck from by a white vehicle in the back right while traveling up I-85 North. The roads being wet this put the car into a fast spin. It hit the concrete medium and spun 8 or so more times across the highway then ended up in a drainage ditch.
Today the insurance company told me there would be a 95% chance of my car being totaled out. I will never be able to drive my mustang again.
I have taken it to New York and back, one of my favoriate trips. Then there was the trip out to the west coast. It has seen 2 oceans and the gulf. I have taken it into -38 degree weather.
I went looking at cars today... nothing really compares to the mustang. Especially it's color... I loved that blue. I haven't seen another car with quite the same shade. Now I am looking at fuel effecient glorified go-carts. There is a little green Taures 2000 I like.. and a Chevy Impala - 2003.
I want to just sit in my mustang now... I am going to miss it...

Date: 2004-09-08 08:56 pm (UTC)Might I suggest that you look at Z's? At least test drive a few.. you may like it... even become addicted like everybody else that I know that owns one (or several, as is usually the case..)
Unless it's the new 350, only look for the turbo versions.. they are the ones that put down... and are just more fun..
I'm putting a 99 pathfinder 3.3liter engine (with only a few hundred miles on it.. read new) in mine currently (hopefully up and running this weekend), along with the turbocharger and cams... I'll let you test drive it once it's through break-in if you can handle a race clutch.. if you're interested...
It'll be one of about three in the southeast with a 3.3 in it ;D
Anyways... at least it went out in a grand fashion.. if you're going to wreck a car, at least make it impressive ;D I wrecked mine by doing 3 360's into a guardrail... didn't have a scratch on me, and still had A/C hehe

Date: 2004-09-08 09:11 pm (UTC)Yeah I miss them when I sell them. Not managed to total one yet but been close.
Honda, Toyota and Nissan for reliability for sure. I hate this little honda accord we have but cant seem to kill the little bitch. 216k on the odometer and burns no oil...leaks it all over the place though LOL. So still going strong and getting 31 mpg. Put new exhaust on it yesterday and new tires a few weeks back and drive it till it dies. Lexluther from Hot had one and he finnaly killed it at 340k of hard miles. Didn't even kill the motor. 5 speed ran low on oil and burned it up. He was running it from Marietta to Macon 2-3 times a week for months.
Usualy have good luck with Toyota but just got burned on this 4Runner. Some dick head screwed up the head. Thinking about dropping a Diesel in it. 35mpg is sounding sexy. Loved my Supra. Had good luck with a Nissan truck as well.
Maybe look at a 2 door accord if you want bigger but still coupe. You want sporty and fun get a Prelude. both will get decent MPG and be reliable if the PO has taken care of it.
