so the new crap was really pissing me off so I figured out to to put it in windows 98 format. it also made everything a lot faster it seems

I download the latest copy of ssh and put it in a folder I created.

then I click on my computer, then the C drive.

I get a warning at this point telling me not to go into this folder as it is reservered and I could mess things up... kind of like the one you got with 98 when you tried to go into the "win" directory.

I stare at the screen blankly...
it's...
the...
C:...
drive...
Where the hell else are you supposed to put shit? Last I checked my ass didn't hold data!! (however when ass-drive technology comes out I am going to be first in line)

Really now.. how do you people use this crap? I did figure out where the name windows comes from. after working with it for a few hours a window is what I am going to toss it out of...

...and I am on the 6th floor...

There's a setting to have it not give you those annoying warnings. Where did I find that (I have to use XP at school now, bastards)... I think it was Control Panel-- Folder Options-- View-- and then there's a line for "Display contents of system folders."

Just about all of those stupid handholding warnings can be shut off. It took a while before XP stopped complaining at me but eventually each warning's cause was found and disabled.

The old 98/2000 theme is the only way to go though. The fruity XP theme is just awful, I can't understand how anyone can use it. As for using the OS as a whole, you can't do PS2, Xbox and Gamecube development on anything else, so we're stuck with it. Mac OS X would be my preference.

Usually the protect-you-from-yourself irritation screens can be eliminated by finding and deleting the desktop.ini file in the folder you are trying to access. Once it's gone you aren't nagged again.

I didn't get the memo that Hell had Frozen over.

What else would make you use windows?

And just to save time, but it figures that you're first in line to buy something that goes up your ass ;P

Damn LJ format mistook my joke for a real url command.

I also said that in order to save time, (insert random obligatory comment on why Mac is better here)

hey, like I said before, I wish that visio ran on Unix...

your right that MAC doesn't have these problems... it sucks for a whole DIFFERENT set of reasons ;-)
