weekend stuff
Apr. 3rd, 2006 08:32 amoh the weekend!
The weeked was filled to the top with dirt and rocks... really, I'm not kidding... much of the retaining wall was finished, enough at least to fill the giant hole caused by the backwash of the neighbors scraping the side of their house. many many tons of dirt and rock were moved one shovel at a time. By the time saturday evening came around I was not only sunburned but so sore that I couldn't move. Another pallet of rocks (2790 lbs) and I will be able to finish the fence and the dogs can run around in the back yard! I am still going to need to buy another 5 pallets or so before all the walls are finished and I can start on the slate... but it's getting closer.
Thank you
lovelylotus for doing so much work. I will have to have a party once it's done.... I keep getting suggestions to put a hottub in place, maybe, but only if I get to build it. hmm, 10 person hottub, jets run by a 1500 lb water compresser... yeah, I think I can do that...
in other news I found out last week that I have high blood pressure. it's one point below what he would put me on medication for. My colesterol and sodium are too high and my Omega 3 and 6 are low (with how much sushi I eat I have NO idea why. So I have to lose at least 20 lbs and go on medication for the colesterol problem. To lose the waight I have cut down to about 2200 calories from the 3500 per day I normally eat and I am eating dinner at 6:00 instead of 9:00... it's been a week and a half and I have gone from 240 down to 228 (this morning) I haven't really been hungry except just before bed when I used to have lots of snacks. I have changed to more sodium frendly foods... and I already exercise hard for 1 hour 3 times a week (martial arts)
ugh... I still hurt from this weekend... my legs feel like jello...

Date: 2006-04-04 03:08 am (UTC)Building walls myself. Loaded 2200lb of cut face retaining wall block at 84lb each into and out of my Suburban Saturday. Did the same the weekend before LOL. I need at least that much more plus top cap. I did get lucky and where its going was back fill so its not so bad to dig except where they dumped a bunch of rock against the foundation.
I'll have to hobble over and check it out.
