i read about that and it worries me. here's why. they aren't doing this for FREE, they want to SELL you a movie, and you download it using bit torrent. at first that sounds good, until you realize something. warner is getting MONEY for YOUR and MY bandwidth! if they were selling and distributing movies from their own server, then cool, fine, yay! but no, they are using the distributed technology so when joe shmoe buys a movie, and just so happens i have it also, he PAYS warner for it, but guess who incur's the slow down and cost and everything associated? does warner? NOPE, i do, and 50 other people, warner pays minimally for distribution and passes the actual bulk of the distribution off to other people, other people who ARENT getting paid for it.

sssooo... i see problems down the road for this model. if warner were giving it away it'd be a different issue.

Also, what's up with the comment "lazy sick fucks"? I imagine it took a lot of time and effort to arrange this kindof demonstration. Plus what's sick about it? They stole expensive food and gave it away, if anything is sick about that it's that they didn't eat any of the kobe beef. It's not like they chopped up the cashier and served her in a soup!

They are stealing from legitiment business men. These are guys just trying to start a business and get along, I hope to be one someday. These are people are trying to work hard and earn money in legitimate ways.

Now if these assholes took from people with ill-gotten-gains it would be different.. but no, they decided to persicute those who are working hard.... those who are trying to do something with their lives.

If they want to give to charity.. fine... GET A JOB and give to charity. but don't take from people who are working blood sweat and tears to earn it! do you know how much work goes into starting a business? How much labor is actually involved? it's insanly difficult! and these sick fucks are making it worse!!

Charities lately? well, last friday I gave blood at the red cross (still have the mark on my arm, but it's very faint now) and I am about to sign up to be a double pint-er for the next time I give. I also just made a donation to the fair-tax movement which is something I feel this country needs more than any other. That is what I have done this month... I have some science orginazations I need to drop a few dollars into.

As the article reads: "Exclusive resturaunts and delicatessens" These are not mom & pop stores trying to "start a business". (those are usually destroyed by Wal-Mart and you shop there)
Any place that has the resorces to serve expenisve items like Kobe beef, smoked salmon and...and... Beluga Caviar, are well established and cater to a wealthy clientle and probably have good insurance to boot!
I think these people are trying to make a point that those wealthy elite who have that kindof cash to afford such luxury items *should* donate to charity.
(hell, in a sense, *I'm* a charity case since the NEA won't fund indevidual artists anymore)

Instead we donate to American Diabeties Association, NPR, Humane Society, Unitarian Social Services, Amnesty International and The USO.

ok, first off... Think about it for a minute... think about some of the 'ritzy' restraunts in atlanta... the abby, the mantion or alons.. they are small places... they are owned by ONE person and have a small staff... the one person who owns it is normally upper middle class, NOT ultra rich... they don't make that much more than I do and they are people who have worked for what they have.

now lets take a look at some of the 'richest' restaurants in the country. number one? McDonalds... yeah.. McDonalds... topping the list are burger King, Arbys... etc... these... even the midsized restuarants such as steak 'n shake, Ruby Tuesdays are owned by a group of people, stock holders and ultra-rich..

If these thieves are making the statement you are claiming they are too stupid to do research BEFORE hand.. which isn't suprising, most idiots who do this don't have a fucking clue.

just becuse someone says or does something funny or cute BEFORE they rob you doesn't suddenly make them not a monster....

oh, and if you can count greenpeace, siera club, peta, glad, or any of the other huge political movements in this country as a charity then I can count one that actually does some good for this country and planet as one too. the fair tax movement is going to help people who are willing to work. It is going to create jobs... I would much rather support someone willing to work but fallen on hard times them some bum who thinks I owe them something because I worked for what I have.

oh... and 'should' do something and 'should be forced' to do something are two completely different things...
