I've tried Myspace to try to figure out what all the appeal is and why you hear it pop up so often.

So far I've got to say that I'm totally unimpressed with the whole thing. Things are not very user friendly so it's not easy to get things like you want them. It also seems like a way for people throw SPAM at you thanks to the e-mail filters everywhere else being better.

I like MySpace a whole lot more than I like LJ. To be honest though it's all really the same bullshit lame blog crap. What amazes me is that people actually pay money to use LJ albeit a small amount, but still.
