You know, after reading some of the arguments there, in reguards to Public performances, I'd like to see what the RIAA has to say about DJ's and VJ's in clubs. Since Radio stations have to pay Royalties and get permission to play the music publicly, why have DJ's and VJ's been left out?
Would the videos uploaded to YouTube and google (etc.) be considered to be in the same category as DJ and VJ Mixes?...
Not real sure, but isnt it because of the clubs paying the fees to BMI and ASCAP, they're covered on that?...may be way wrong, but that's my wild guess...
Yeah...well, I can't remember ever hearing of a DJ paying any fees...and I know several of them and a couple of future up and comers. I'll have to ask them some day when I think about it...
