Some of Dick Sutphen's stuff (especially in the last few years) gets a little too far out there for me. But I do think he has a pretty good grasp on mind, conciousness, and manipulation. I don't think his ideas on meditation, focused thought, and internal dialouge are really expressed in this article, but he has been qiute a prolific writer on these subjects in the last 25 years, I especially enjoy his articles on media and advertising. We part ways when he begans to talk about channeling and some of that "old school" new age B.S. I just can't get into that whole Sedona scene...

He was part of the "original" NLP developmental group. Most of those folks went thir seperate ways, each following their own path in this arena.
In indivduals,some of these patterns work singularly, while stacking patterns will increase the rate of success. The trick is to occupy or engage the concious mind, while creating an altered state. You've seen me do this on stage,stacking no less than five or six. Each has a subtle effect, but together their strength is multiplied, as each submodality is engaged.
If you watch three or four different stage hypnotists in a row and then an evangelical preacher, or faith healer, you will see the similarities. It's the same show. One of the best documentaries I ever saw was a direct comparison to Benny Hinn. When I saw that, I knew I had missed my calling...
