Ok, I was up last night working on the house. did all the things the inspector told me to do no matter how ludicrous and called for another inspection today. When he showed up I told him I would be calling for an inspection every day until I passed...

He passed me this time!! woo-woo (finally)

tonight we will work on insulation

We will schedule the framing inspection for tomorrow

once that is done we can start on the sheetrock

So, "you are wasting my time, so I'm going to waste yours" worked! Kudos!

What kind of insulation have you picked?

That was pretty much my plan and it did work :-)

We are using Owens Corning (the pink stuff)

the ceilings will be getting R30 and the walls will be getting R13. The ceilings are almost done except for any panel which has wiring in it. (the kitchen mostly)

I have been watching videos on how to mud sheetrock since it's what I've always had the most trouble with. I see where my errors are and think I can do a little better with it this time.

maybe at some point I will announce a "sheetrock weekend" and everyone can come over and help with it :-)

Huzzah!
Knowing what you are going through has made me very grateful to have built my house in Kingston. One guy did both the inspections required and wrote his official okey dokey on a scrap piece of card board and tacked it to a stud.

Threats of wasting his time...very clever!

A suggestion.
If you can afford it after you sheetrock have a pro do the finishing.
They get the seams to disappear so quickly and it save you time retaping.

Congrats on passing!

well, the problem isn't so much affording it as finding someone honest. I have come to find out that MOST contractors are dishonest thieves.

For example I went through 14 cement contractors before finding one that would work.

We have had problems with dishonest contractors as well.
We finally found someone we like, actually 2 we like and one is a plumber, through a business group.
We had a horrible run of corrupt plumbers!
A couple of people we knew were members in a small business co-op group and they gave us the names of contractors in their group.
Good Luck!

Plumbing is one of those things I just don't do ;-) There is some that needs to be done at the house right now too. (sewage vent)

If they work up in our area, please, send me their number!

Bwahaha! Go you!

You might want to consider a pro for the drywall just because it takes a long time if you don't know what you are doing and the seams and the even-ness of it do matter. Sorry I can't help, as I am not in town. I will see if I can get a referral, though.
