The first car running on nothing but compressed air goes on sale next month in India. It can go 300Km on one tank, and costs $2 to refill that tank. The cars start at $8177, there will be 6000 on the first production line.

Looks like it has a top speed of 65 mph, so you wouldn't want to take it on a highway. It'd probably have a horrible safety rating due to its construction, but they let people ride motorcycles!

All the near roads are 35-45mph so it'd be fine for local runabout. Woudn't do an interstate, no, unless I really loved the right lane. Which isn't so bad, honestly...

I'm really looking forward to the safety testing, just to see if it survives basic impacts. Glue is not the best welding technique!

With the price as low as it is, it'd probably be considered "totaled" after the first fender-bender! I definitely wouldn't want to be sitting in the back of that thing if it got rear-ended. I'd rather just pull the seats out and use the back purely for storage.
