new netfix
Mar. 2nd, 2002 01:31 pmThe netfix program I posted a while back, I have made a LOT of changes to it, it's now much faster and more robust, it does 3 checks before it switches from one interface to the next.
the way it works is to ping 3 root name servers, if it can't reach any of them it switches to the second interface. this is being used on a few companies firewalls now so if one ISP goes down it can just move everyone to the other. The best part about it is that it's all written in shell script so it will run on ANY system that has a Bourne or Korn shell installed, and it makes it easy for anyone with Unix knowledge to make changes to. so with no further adue here is your script
netfix
this goes along with it, it's a script that sets up natd when you have LOTS of options... this is hard to do with rc.conf because of the way it's formated.
