internet access
Mar. 26th, 2002 08:26 pmthe hotel is now asking for $2000 for Internet access for the weekend. they think the have us backed up against a wall and we are going to HAVE to pay it. I am going to talk to the guys boss tomorrow and hopefully work this out.
The guy doesn't seem to understand that I am asking for the same thing they charge $10 for in the room, that and the fact that we aren't going to pay that kind of money for access.
the con stuff is going slow. there is so much to do and it's wearing me out. by the time the con gets here I am going to be dead. I am so worn out. I checked out the room with Patrick so that we could check it out for the laser show. there are plenty of outlets... looks like they are on. there are also 2 closets that we can use, that rocks...
no Internet is going to SUCK, we will figure something out however.

It's all good.
I expect that you'll be able to figure something out. If not, remember that a room full of networked computers is still pretty darned cool, even without an internet connection.
Thanks for all the work you've been putting into this. It's going to be excellent...and we'll have more than a year to get ready for 2003.
Re: It's all good.
Date: 2002-03-26 05:42 pm (UTC)either A: a different hotel or B: get internet conectivity from somewhere else
the price of a T-1 for a month is $350 if we were to pull our own T-1 to the hotel it would be cheaper than one day of what they want to charge
Re: It's all good.
Good point about the T-1 line. Worth mentioning when you talk to the boss?
