So I just heard back from Cox communications. I have GREAT job skills however I have had too many jobs. I tried to explain that of the last 3 companies I worked for 2 are out of business and 1 laid off 1/3 of their staff. I am looking for a stable company but they don't seem to exist. I would like an hones company with a decent HR department too, but I KNOW those don't exist.

grrr, this is getting SO frustrating!!

I tried to link it but the search times out. Just look for jobs in Atlanta (there aren't that many). The one titled Messaging LAN/Network Team Manager has these qualifications listed:

Good understanding of UNIX networking
Good understanding of Ethernet, X.25 and TCP/IP
Good understanding of X.400, SMTP and Type B messaging protocols
Good understanding of System Operations
Good trouble-shooting skills
Good level of spoken and written English
Good communication skills
Good time management skills

And 3 years of networking experience.

Cox has a real problem with that. They gave me the same song and dance when I interviewed with them 3 years ago. I pushed it a bit though and managed to get an offer finally, but due to other circumstances, I had to turn it down after all.

The green haired manager (whos name I forget) and to the HR department for that division. I gave clear examples of why each job had ended, proof and written recommendations from each, as well as the ones I had been at for over a year. I also proved by examples (on-the-fly work examples) that they needed my skills and that I was very good at what I did and had strong company loyalty (even to the ones that had laid me off). I guess I spun it well enough for them to cave in..or they were desperate

I'd likely have the same problem, but any chance you could share your contact at cox with me? I'd even be willing to do phone support at this point.

who?

...too many jobs?

On one side, they want you to have plenty of experience. But, apparently not TOO much, 'eh?

Goobers...

Like it was *your* fault the companies went out of business and/or laid off.
