Ok, posting a message saying you don't like something is one thing

Calling someone at work threating them is another.

Rokit Called me at work claiming that he is going to file a lawsuit against me for slander because I didn't have a good time at his con and wrote about it. I asked many times 'which part of
what I wrote is not true' The only reply I got from him was 'you have to take it all down'

So it doesn't matter that what I put down is true, I wrote about my experiences at the convention and am being threatened with a lawsuit now.

Actually I did my research before posting...

here you go:

http://www.petsforum.com/psw/

if you read more into this lawsuit you will find the 'what I did wrong section' Notice I did not do the things wrong that he did, I never said that anyone else should go or not go to the convention, I never said that anyone should do anything. I only gave my points and things that I learned.

if you had a good time at the convention, I am glad. I did enjoy the panelists a lot. I wish I could have been there for Randal's entire panel but was called away. (I have now seen the end {at dragon} and the begining {at interz0ne} but have yet to see the middle)

I did not, I had lots of problems, I posted them.

my final responce to Rokit's claim: send me the lawsuit
You don't call me up and threaten me, have your lawyer send me an e-mail and I will send him my address where he can mail everything.

Heh... would he also sue a reporter that stopped by the con, if the reporter wrote a negative article?

Sounds like he needs to understand what free speech means. And it didn't sound like you hated the whole time you where there, just had to get a lot of stuff set up in the way of networking.

Hope that works out, stuff like that is always a pain.

Exactly!

They definitely need reminding what FREE SPEECH entails exactly.
That's completely lame, and I'm sorry that they are being such shits to you.
You've totally got one angry, little girl coming back to Atlanta to stick up for you!!!!!!!!

jesus

rokit needs to grow up. face the music. he did a poor job planning, and most people involved knew that long before the convention actually took place. it was a first year con, and those often don't go nearly as well as the organizers would like. hell, a lot of second and third years cons don't either.

i think generally most people considered worth while, tho not great. he needs to focus on making the next one better, rather than trying to police everyone into thinking the last one was great.

To avoid libel, you have to make sure what you say is either true (an proveable) or clearly your opinion-- and not be asserting your opinion as fact.

Saying that someone lied in a specific instance, IF you have proof, is not defamatory. Saying someone is a liar is defamatory. Saying you don't trust someone isn't; saying someone is untrustworthy is.

The fuzzy line (I think) is whether your statement that you learned not to trust Rockit is an assertion that Rocket is untrustworthy.

Man!...
